Driving in New Jersey requires skill, knowledge and behind the wheel training. We can provide all necessary instruction for becoming a safe skilled driver. The primary purpose of our driver education program is to save lives and reduce motor vehicle accidents. Don-Tre will provide education and supervised instruction on the fundamental skills of driving.

Don-Tre is owned and operated by Donald & Peter Carpenter. This family business was established in 1988 and has been serving Union, Essex, Morris, Somerset and Ocean counties and it’s young drivers since.

Peter Carpenter is certified through the New Jersey State Department of Education, NJDMV and National Safety Council as a driving instructor. He joined DonTre over 15 years ago as an instructor, office and personnel manager. Peter specializes in Adult and special needs lessons as well as road test preparation and service. He is active in his community and enjoys coaching wrestling and football.

Donald Carpenter is certified through the New Jersey State Department of Education, NJDMV and National Safety Council as a driving instructor. In addition to the above qualifications, Don recently retired from teaching, coaching and Director of Athletics for New Providence School District. He was employed over 46 years and is still very active in the community.

Don-Tre Staff
Our staff includes teachers, coaches, and educational administrators in local communities and are trained to meet the educational needs of all types of student learners. Our instructors have been personally trained by the owners and certified as New Jersey State Defensive Driving Instructors. All staff is fully licensed by NJMVC as commercial driving instructors. All Don-Tre employees are insured and bonded as required by the State of New Jersey.

Our Vehicles
All Don-Tre Driving vehicles are equipped with dual brakes and meet all New Jersey State Regulations. All vehicles are registered insured and maintained by Don-Tre Driving School. All instructors and students are insured at the maximum level allowed by law during all instruction. All vehicles are 2007-2009 Honda Civics, providing the latest in safety and reliability for your comfort and protection.
